Dr. Felipe Jain

Felipe A. Jain, M.D., is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco, School of Medicine.   He customizes his approach based on the needs of each patient, and utilizes evidence-based psychotherapy, psychiatric medications, meditation and mental imagery practices, in addition to brain stimulation technologies.  Much of his work consists of teaching and supervising residents and medical students to evaluate and treat patients with mental health difficulties.

Dr. Jain graduated with honors from both Brown University and Harvard Medical School, in the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology.  He completed his residency training and postdoctoral fellowship at the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior.  In addition to his private practice, he conducts research at UCSF on the application of meditation and mental imagery techniques to recovery from psychiatric illness. He also investigates the impact of psychiatric treatments on biomarkers that may help personalize treatment.
