Daniel Lindqvist, MD, PhD

Daniel Lindqvist is an Associate Professor at Lund University, Sweden and former postdoc at UCSF. He first started at UCSF in 2012 and after moving back to Sweden in 2016, he has continued to work closely with the PNE lab. He is currently PI of three ongoing treatment studies, investigating the antidepressant efficacy of omega-3 fatty acids, probiotics and pramipexole. In these studies, he uses biomarkers and symptom profiles for enrichment of patient populations in order to delineate more homogenous subsamples and thereby identify more specific treatment options. The overreaching goal of dr Lindqvist’s research is to better understand the biology of depression and to find new and more targeted treatments for this disorder and thereby advance “personalized psychiatry".
