Purpose
By participating in the CAN-D Study you'll help us better understand how clinical depression affects hormones, indicators of cellular health, and aspects of neurobiology in adults, and how these changes respond to treatment with a standard antidepressant.
What's involved?
Study visits take place at the UCSF Parnassus Heights Medical Center.
To find out if you can participate:
- Phone call with study team (30 min-1 hour)
- In-Person Screening Visit (~1-1.5 hours)
We are currently recruiting for this study. Please click the link below to see if you are eligible.
If after the screening visit we find you can participate, you will have a one time study visit.
You must be:
- 21-60 years old
- Fluent in speaking English
- Medically healthy (no significant uncontrolled illness)
You cannot:
- Have a depression diagnosis
- Currently be taking certain medications
- Currently have a substance abuse disorder
- Be pregnant
Payment = up to $125
You will be paid with a Visa or American Express gift card. You will be paid the full $125 if you complete all portions of the study. Some travel expenses may also be covered.
